The first session of the Transparency in AMET Program took place on 3rd December 2024 @ 3:30pm GMT, with a focus on Content Restrictions Based on Local Law & Government Requests for User Data. During the webinar, Meta teams provided information on the latest transparency reports and efforts to balance user rights in relation to data disclosure and takedown requests, accompanied by data and case studies specific to the AMET region. Transparency Center

The Transparency Center includes a global list of Meta's content policies, information on how Meta detects violations and removes harmful content, and deep dives into topics like elections and misinformation. It also features sections on policy enforcement, the Oversight Board, and various transparency reports.

Report: Content Restrictions Based on Local Law

When something on Facebook or Instagram is reported to Meta as going against local law, but doesn't go against Meta's Community Standards, it may restrict the content's availability in the country where it is alleged to be unlawful. This report details these instances where Meta restricted access to content based on local law.

Report: Government Requests for User Data

Meta regularly produces this report on government requests for user data to provide information on the nature and extent of these requests and the strict policies and processes we have in place to handle them.
